Our Story.
When I was young, my sister experienced an unplanned pregnancy. That summer, two things were born, my adorable nephew and my love and compassion for all things pregnancy, birth and babies!! I saw, up close, the struggles she faced, the shame she endured, and how that affected her ability to be a mom. It wasn’t until years later when our pastor approached me about the idea of starting a pregnancy ministry that I began to realize the significance of the seed that was planted.
We started our first Embrace Grace Bible study in August of 2021, and it didn’t take long to see how great the need was for single pregnant mamas in Saline County. Hearing their stories and trying to walk with them through situations - without resources to help - was heartbreaking. A deep feeling of unrest settled in my heart. My husband, Billy, and I started praying.
After the Roe vs Wade decision on June 24th 2022, we felt an undeniable call to action - now is the time to step up and do something. The more people I talked to, the more I realized how God was moving in others' hearts with the same call to action. And there, Good Roots was born.
